Vixentine’s Night: A Heartbreak Healing Workshop and "Pain+Pleasure” Party
Vixentine’s Night is a place for people to let it all out — and reclaim their power.
Location and $$$: This workshop and dance party will be in a private home in Northeast Washington, D.C. Donations of $5 or more are welcome via Venmo.
Theme: Pain and pleasure! Come dressed in attire that combines sweetness and sharpness.
Timing: Doors open at 7. Miriam will lead a workshop (see below) 7:30-8:30pm. Afterparty with dance music from a premier DC DJ will be 8:30-10pm.
B.Y.O.alcohol-free-B: This is a substance-free event. There will be light refreshments, but we encourage you to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverage.
Facebook event: RSVP on FB for updates and community.
Workshop
Coach Miriam Diana will lead a heartbreak healing and empowerment workshop that includes movement to music. This sober event may cultivate the sense of awe and compassion that you can get from altered states.
7-8:30pm welcome: Two jars will be set up with pieces of paper for you to write on.
In the “cord-cutting corner,” write down the things from the past 12 months that you’d like to let go of. Later, Miriam Diana will read these out loud and symbolically burn them.
Over on the “manifesting mat,” write down your desires — the things you want to bring into your sex and love life in the next 12 months. Later, Miriam Diana will read these out loud and symbolically eat them.
7:30-8:30pm workshop:
Paired sharing: How do you feel about Valentine’s Day? How do you feel about your sex and love life?
Getting in your body: Feel what feels OK in your body — and what feels pleasurable. Come back here if anything gets overwhelming. Take the emotions that you named in the sharing and see if you can feel them physically.
Movement:
Gentle movement: While seated, express your emotional feelings by moving to music.
Movement with imagination: Dance while feeling your difficult feelings. Let your emotions inspire movement — and, in fact, exaggerate the movement. Imagine: If your emotion were to make sounds or say things, what sounds or words would come out? Let them out. If your emotion were an animal, what would it be? Act like that animal.
Turning Pain into Pleasure: Note what feels OK, if anything. Does anything feel good? Pleasurable? Dance while focusing on the pleasure and any pain at the same time. Now, see if you can shift focus — can you focus on the pleasure? Can you let the pleasure move you?
Slow Dance with Yourself: Slow down, sway, and hug your sweet self. Have a self-cuddle while swaying, and feel free to sit down.
Visualizing your desires: Sit down and see if you can tap into what you want in your love life — even if it’s just a feeling or state of being. Miriam Diana will lead you through a guided visualization of this desire.
Sharing: People will get in pairs to share, then share as a group.
Afterparty
After the workshop, burlesque dancer and Burning Man babe Victoria Vixen will make a special appearance. She’ll host a “pleasure+pain”-themed dance party with a badass DJ.
Remember: Come in a pleasure+pain-themed outfit and bring your favorite alcohol-free beverage!
Virtual-Only Option

What’s self-cuddling?
Get ready to hug your sweet self and caress your cute face! Self-cuddling is giving yourself affection through your hands, arms, and body position. It’s a way to feel loved — that feeling of “I am loved and lovable — when you’re alone. For an example, check out this self-cuddle instructional video.
